QR code is a bar code used in digital devices to read information as a series of pixels in a square-shaped grid. QR code is used to track information about different products in a supply chain, and nowadays, mobile phones have built-in QR reader data used in marketing and advertising campaigns. Nowadays, it is also used to make various payments online.

The first QR code system was invented in 1994 by the Japanese company Denso Wave, and Just company is a Toyota subsidiary. At that time, they needed a more relevant way to track vehicles during manufacturing. So, to do this, they have developed a type of bar code that can encode different characters.

Standard bar codes can only be read in one direction, from top to bottom. This means they can only store a small amount of information. But when we talk about QR code, it will be read in 2 directions: from top to bottom and right to left. This will help them store significantly more data.

How to Scan QR Code?

Nowadays, mobile phones have a built-in QR code scanner in the mobile camera. This is used to scan QR codes:

  • The initial QR code scanning step is opening the application or the camera on your mobile phone.
  • Then, point your camera in front of the QR scan. You can do it from various angles, and you will receive the necessary information.
  • In the final step, the data will be shown on your mobile screen. And also, there will be options where your phone can instantly download some details.


In conclusion, QR codes have become a necessity nowadays. It will help collect information about various products or services and also help make payments online. It would help if you remembered that QR codes cannot be hacked. However, there are chances that hackers can create malicious QR codes sent to users from fake websites to collect their data and track their phone’s location. So, you can never quote any sun until you know they are from an authorized and trusted website.
